Junior Lifeguard Programs and Super Surf Camps were founded in 1991.
The California Junior Lifeguards Programs and Super Surf Camps are proud to be able to provide our participants with the highest quality of instructors. All of our instructors are First-aid and C.P.R. certified and undergo extensive evaluation and training programs.

Jim Balok has been the Program Director for the California Junior Lifeguard Programs and Super Surf Camps since they were founded in 1991. He is dedicated to providing an enjoyable and safe experience for all participants. He began surfing in 1969 on the beaches of Southern California and has since surfed some of the best surfing locations worldwide. He became a Lifeguard in 1979 at Huntington Beach and has been a member of several local and national surf lifesaving associations. He is an American Red Cross lifeguard instructor, and has currently certified over 2000 people in CPR throughout the local community. Jim takes pride in operating quality programs in Orange County and visits all of the programs 5 days a week (8am-11:30am) to maintain the quality experience for the participants.

Larry is an Orange County native who has been partnered up with California Junior Lifeguard Programs since 1998, because he strongly believes in the positive message and experience all of the participants take with them from the programs. With the ideal environments presented, this local father of three, utilizes the opportunity to actively ensure a fun, positive and safe aquatic environment for the participants and local community. He enjoys promoting ocean safety, health, nutrition, and environmental preservation. Some of Larry’s experience and qualifications include being a Lifeguard Instructor with the *American Red Cross* , Jr. Lifeguard Director, and experience educating all ages of the community about CPR, First Aid and Surf Instruction.
