Welcome to the California Junior Lifeguard Programs. We are here to help you learn the skills necessary to protect yourself and others in the ocean environment. Let’s take a look at some of the things that we will be learning in the Junior Lifeguard Program…..
WHAT IS A JUNIOR LIFEGUARD PROGRAM?
The California Junior Lifeguard Programs are 3-week long day camps providing instruction in first-aid, CPR, ocean safety, rescue techniques, surfing, and bodyboarding. Instruction, supervision, and activities are managed by the California Junior Lifeguard Programs Inc. Swimmers, surfers, and bodyboarders of all ability and skill levels, ages 8-17, are eligible to sign up for the programs. Additional activities include interpretive and educational presentations from members of the local community.
The California Junior Lifeguard Program offers step-by-step skill development with a safety-first motto. We take pride in offering a variety of challenging activities in a fun atmosphere designed for the young and the young at heart. Camaraderie, self-respect, physical conditioning, and good clean fun are all important aspects of the California Junior Lifeguard Program.
